Description:  A lovely, tabular crystal with deep green Chlorite inclusions. "GOLDEN" QUARTZ

Hwy 49 road-cut,
Carson Hill,
Calaveras County, California

Cx: Jake and Dana Harper, 10/29/1998

Size: 2 3/8" X 1 3/4"                 Price: 54.00
Description:  A beautiful golden Quartz crystal group that is colored by a thin coating of iron oxides. There is also a rainbow irridescence to the crystal faces when the piece is rotated - that being due, I am guessing to the oxides as well. I discovered this pocket in a road-cut cliff on historic hwy 49, south of the Carson Hill Mine.

Sonora Pass ia an obscure California locality that is known only to a small handfull of collectors due not only to the climbing difficulties just to reach the locality - but also to the extremely dangerous collecting conditions present there. Collected by: Kurt Vitek, 1994.

QUARTZ variety ROCK CRYSTAL

Montgomery County,
Arkansa
s

Size: 3 1/4"X 2 1/8"                 Price: $75.00

Description:  An absolutely suburb crystal specimen! The main crystal measures 2 1/2"X 1 1/4 and has a very unusual, stepped/ beveled termination that is glassy and flawless. This is a very difficult to describe termination, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves! Top Quartz specimen that sits upright and displays quite aesthetically!

Nothing in the world is more beautiful, I repeat once again, than the view of a freshly opened pocket of excellent Quartz, the various colors of nature playing therein.  I have opened many which are not large but exquisite, and I cannot adequately describe the great joy which that view gives me, nor the sorrow which overtakes my heart when I must break apart such beauty in order to dig it out.

- Father Placidus Spescha 1752 - 1833 -
