CLASSIC TRI-STATE CALCITE
We recently picked up an amazing lot of fine Tri-State Calcite specimens from our good friend Jay Buscio, who kindly offered them to us VERY reasonably.   Every specimen in this lot is a beautifully crystallized old time classic - collected during the 1950's from the famed Lead/ Zinc deposits of Tri-State.   This lot consists of several different Calcite habits, colors and crystallizations including single Scalenohedral and rhombohedral crystals to crystals on matrix, and also some unusual parallel growth crystal groupings (Item# TS-3!).   Many of these pieces exhibit multiple growth stages that betray drastically changing depositional environments.
As usual, this is only a small portion of the lot (11+ flats!) and each piece will be affordable - so if you have any special requests, please feel free to email us at earthquest@volcano.net.

Collected Late 1950's — Former Belden Collection: Auburn, California

Size: 3" X 2 1/2"                Price: $150.00

CALCITE

Tri-State Mining District,
Picher, Oklahoma

Collected Late 1950's — Former Belden Collection

Size: 3 3/4" X 3 1/2"                Price: $75.00

Description:  I just love this piece!   The main crystal is clean, sharp and measures 1 1/2" long.   What's so awesome about the specimen is that the scalenohedral crystal displays highly detailed internal cleavage structure - this feature being what led René Just Haüy to experiment with the geometrical law of crystallization.  Will need stand for upright display.

CALCITE

Tri-State Mining District,
Picher, Oklahoma

Collected Late 1950's — Former Belden Collection

Size: 5 3/8" X 3 1/2"                Price: $125.00

Description:  Here's another multiple growth specimen - this being a large single scalenohedral crystal.   It is waxy lustered and the termination is quite textured.   The interior "stage" is a grainy white, again, with lustrous yellow Calcite overgrowths covering nearly the entire piece.   Excellent!

CALCITE

Tri-State Mining District,
Picher, Oklahoma

Collected Late 1950's — Former Belden Collection

Size: 4" X 3"                Price: $100.00

Description:  A very handsome and aesthetic grouping - this being probably one of the best of the multiple growth stage pieces.  Creamy tan Calcite overgrows sharp, lustrous orange/ yellow Calcite crystals to 2+ inches.  One missing termination on the back that does not show.  In my opinion, a superb piece!
