This beautiful high quality Joplin specimen sports huge (to 2+ inches!) lustrous Sphalerite crystals and features Galena as both sharp, simple Octahedra and Octahedra beveled by cube faces and being nicely hoppered as well. The matrix consists of a dense blanket of bladed Pink Dolomite crystals that are sprinkled with hundreds of brassy, lustrous Chalcopyrite crystals. This very large, aesthetic composite example consisting of four well crystallized mineral species represents quite nicely the mineral assemblages once found at the classic mines of Joplin.
