NEPAL QUARTZ CRYSTALS FOR SALE

We recently came across this batch of beautiful and unusual chlorite included quartz specimens from Nepal at a gem show and just had to grab some up. This Himalayan alpine cleft deposit is located right around 17,000 feet and produces very little material as pockets are scarce. The quartz from this locality is quite unique in that it can form groups of sharp, spear-shaped crystals with a tapering "Tessin" habit, some with nearly unrecognizable pyramid faces. These crystals commonly being included by deep green masses of chlorite and rarely having a lovely crystallized albite matrix, making for very attractive and desirable mineral specimens. It must be mentioned that a few of these spear-shaped crystals lost their terminations millions of years ago and have actually since been "finished" by a layer of deep green chlorite. The two Nepalese gentlemen we purchased them from mentioned that these were mined ten years ago and that this small hoard had been stashed away since then.
